Giorgio Celiberti was born in Udine in 1929.   He started to painting very young,only nineteen participating in the Biennale in Venice. In Venice, he attended the Art College and then the study of Emilio Vedova. In the lagoon city shares with Tancredi the room-study; intense circle of contacts with Charles Ciussi, Marco Fantoni, and Romano Parmeggiani, who live in Venice in the same period a period of training.  He follows in the footsteps of his uncle Modotti in the early fifties he moved to Paris, where he met with leading representatives of the figurative culture beyond the Alps.
He began a series of voyages that will remain central to his education: in '56 is in Brussels with a scholarship from the Ministry of Education, between '57 and '58 in London: then in the U.S., Mexico, Cuba, in Venezuela. When he back in Italy he moved to a long and fruitful period in Rome, where he attended the leading artist of the Italian scene. He back in Udine in the mid-sixties and it happens once a fact is intended to effect radical change in his art: in 1956, visit the Terezin concentration camp near Prague, where thousands of children had left traces of their tragedy: graffiti, drawings, poems. In 1975 the Walls anthropomorphic reflection on the findings arising from the Necropolis of Porto, at Fiumicino, Rome's early Christian Roman Aquileia and Cividale Lombard. Since the sixties is dedicated specifically to sculpture.The first works in bronze, stone and ceramics are dedicated to the monumental issues of horses and riders, followed by an original wildlife gallery: Cats, Birds, Goats.In affinity with the themes "archaeological" of painting, the  chips are born, the Stele, the bas-reliefs.He has participated in important exhibitions of art in Italy and abroad: the Venice Biennale, the Quadrennial of Rome Prize Esso, the Award Burano, Marzotto, Michetti, La Spezia, San Marino, Autostrada del Sole, the Award International Fiorino, the exhibition of the New Italian Painting in Japan. The exhibit at the international level sees Paris (1953 and 1982), London (1956), Dallas (1963), NewYork (1963), Toronto (1976), Vienna (1978), Amsterdam (1979), Nova Gorica (1982) , Novo Mesto (1983), Jaffa, Jerusalem and Tel Aviv (1983), Brussels and Strasbourg (1987); Salzburg Los Angeles (1989), London, Dusseldorf, Barcelona (1990), Madrid and Paris (1992); Millstat, Gent (1993), Chicago (1995); Museum of Zagreb (1998). In 1991 Celiberti has also carried out two prestigious public achievements: the mosaic of friendship in the atrium of the University of Ljubljana and the fresco of over 800 square meters of land on the roof of the hotel Kawajyu of Shirama, Japan. In 2003 he won the prize in 2004 Sulmona and his hometown, Udine, an anthology devoted to the theater "Giovanni da Udine". In the fall of 2005, Prince Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy gives the MART of Trento and Rovereto, a large painting of celibacy, which is placed in the permanent collection of the Museum.
