Irene Petrafesa was born to Bari in 1952 she lives and works to Andria (Italy). Lived in a prone family environment to the art to all round, she interrupts the university studies and subsequently the job in the Office of the Department of Internal Revenue, and, for passion, since 2000 she intensifies the artistic activity. She participates in numerous reviews in Italy among which the Sanremo Prize 2000, to Sanremo, the Art Prize Mondadori in Milan and the Gran Prix of the Adriatic to Riccione. Between 2001 and 2002 she participates at the review "Rome New Age" collective estate in the Building of the Exposures in Rome, awarding her-self the Prize of the Criticism. Always in the same year, resigns international to Building Barberini in Rome and subsequently in the Castle of Montegiardino in the Republic of San Marino, to Bari in the review "Pure and simple Reflexes of Puglia, she award the first prize. In 2008 she is invited to Ferrara, and within the event "Città territorio Festival 2008" personal near the Gallery dell'UVA" where she exposes a series of works of great conceived dimensions and related to the problem list of the industrial cities. She receives the prize "Signs Of art "for the intense and qualitative artistic activity, in the suggestive center of the Egyptian Embassy to Rome. She acquires the Special Mention of European Artist within the international review "Art Summer New" edited by the Community European Helsinki-Finland and she exposes in international circle in events artistic cultural to Salisburgo and to Tenerife in Spain. Following "Away Game" international review to the Sendai Mediateque Gallery, in Japan. The dominant themes and the interest for her "Human Condition "that her creative impulse they originate, what "the cultural interdependence among the people", "the great natural catastrophes", "the aridity of the feelings", without skipping every now and then, visual trips in the territory of affiliation, have brought her to make part, of an international group, to which artists of the whole world stick, senses to the human condition and the popularization of the peace in the world. With the same group you/he/she has participated in 2010 in the international review "Dreams-Visions-Creations: The Positive Side of Life ", held him to Athens in September 2010 edited by Takis Alexiou & CA4S. She primarily works with oil, even if she doesn't disdain mixed techniques, natural pigments on great cloths. Her is an evocative painting, mean of the to act in direct relationship with the mental representation. Don't interest her to narrate the immediate reality but the soul of the reality, the more dimension' dark of the life, of the magic of the things. She doesn't paint people, if not sometimes as momentary shades, trembling indefinite that do from scene to the representation of the true subject of her works: "IL VUOTO" understood as aridity of feelings and dismay. Besides international reviews, to which it participates with constancy, she has held personal in Italy near prestigious Galleries of art and Public Institutions, one work of his is contained in the new Permanent Museum of Contemporary art to Trani, near the Quadreria of the Castello Svevo.
